| I started working for Cryselco as a lamp representative in Lincolnshire in 1953. Since then I have carried out a large variety of duties including Leicester Branch Manager, Assistant General Sales Manager and Export Manager.
I have been involved in the design of both luminaires and lighting installations for many years and was responsible for the initial research into High Frequency Control Gear for fluorescent tubes in conjunction with Texas Instruments. (This research was later taken over by Philips Lighting).
Since retiring in 1995 I have been self-employed (part-time) as a lighting agent. Not being employed full time has the advantage that I have plenty of time to devote to lighting projects that I find interesting. I have deliberately not attempted to cover a large area, restricting my efforts to Northamptonshire and Peterborough.
I still enjoy the job enormously and continue to receive many regular calls for the design and development services that I can offer. |
